UBS - Global Markets Quant Summer Intern

June 2023 - August 2023

  • Worked as a Quant Summer Intern within the Global Markets division in London
  • Developed ACF-AR(p) time-series models for the Central Risk Book desk, resulting in improved ETF inventory management via ETF RFQ Flow prediction
  • Model designed using Python (and libraries) ; achieved Model RMSE of 0.95, outperforming baseline RMSE of 1.25 (scored from 0 to 2, p-value < 0.001)
  • Developed diagnostics for the Portfolio Quantitative Analytics team's American Monte Carlo system, allowing for more accurate risk management and regulatory capital calculations
  • Model developed via C# and researched via Python (and libraries); successfully tested on over 400 trades

Tramplus x MIT Node - Part-Time Tutor

  • Working with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Hong Kong Innovation Node and Tramplus on a co-developed STEAM education program promoting sustainability and circular design as a teacher and designer
  • Taught and supervised students in the design and construction next-generation HK Trams using new technologies (3D-Printing, Machine Learning, etc.)
  • Devised and designed Tramplus' back-end user enrollment system through Dev-Ops consultancy project

Laboratory for Space Research (HKU) - Full-Time Research Assistant

June 2021 - August 2022

  • Promoted from Intern to Undergraduate Affiliate to full-time Research Assistant, with a continued affiliation to this date
  • Working with an international team of over a dozen experienced professionals and researchers to prototype, simulate, and launch a satellite telescope operating in the MeV-regime to space
  • Devised, debugged, and modified Python and Bash scripts for running mass simulations on Fermi-GBM database, increasing efficiency thousandfold
  • Independently setup departmental Linux computer, including deploying and employing MEGALib toolkit to run preliminary satellite simulations
  • Setup and managed system administration duties through remote and on-site problem-solving on departmental Linux computer from 2020 to 2021 as an Undergraduate Affiliate
